The hotel was right in front of the train station. There are many kinds of restaurants nearby, and a convenience store is on the first floor, so it was very convenient.
The staff always greeted us and tried their best to answer my questions.

Location - perfect, just a short walk from Yamagata station and right next to a kombini and a restaurant district. I've heard that this was a business hotel but it felt luxurious, not sterile at all, and comfortable. Very helpful and pleasant staff as expected in a Japanese hotel.
Big room, extremely comfortable king-sized bed, jumbo TV, beautiful and spacious bathroom - not the usual plastic box. Even a massage chair. Lots of free amenities at the reception. Check-out at 11:00 which was A+.
Japanese breakfast worthy of a Japanese princess in a beautiful restaurant in the same building. It's better than the continental ("western") breakfast option. Also, the same restaurant also operates independently from the hotel and serves absolutely delicious sukiyaki for dinner. Highly recommend!

Loved our large comfortable room in the renovated South tower. It is the biggest room we've ever had in Japan. It had the style of a luxury hotel but at a bargain price. Great beds, great views and a very convenient location connected to Yamagata Station concourse and a pedestrian overpass to the centre of Yamagata City. Perfect base for buses and trains to Kaminoyama Onsen, Zao Onsen, Mt Zao Ropeway, Okama Crater, Omoshiroyama Gorge, and Yamadera Shrine.

Breakfast was good. Hope could be improved with different varieties everyday. The location just beside Yamagata station. Love how helpful the hotel staff is, he was trying hard to explain in English, and keep helping us during the stay. I love how they greet us everytime we passby the lobby lift.
