Universal Studios Japan
Harry Potter ‘apparates’ his way into reality at Universal’s own Wizarding World, complete with a replica Hogsmeade Village and the Hogwarts Express. If action’s more your thing, scale skyscrapers with Spiderman as your guide, wade your way through WaterWorld or face the wrath of the Terminator.

A good day to spend there!
A good day to spend there! 4 ride UE is recommended if only a day as very crowded. Timed entry tickets are required for Mario and Harry Potter World. The flying dinosaur is the scariest but nothing compared to Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi.

Universal was well presented and staff were amazing (much better than the Orlando park). Check ride closures before visiting as a lot of rides were closed.
Turn up an hour early for entry - if the park says it opens at 9 it actually opens its gates at 7:45 - 8:00! We were able to ride two of the biggest rides before 9:30 this way! Times area passes also don’t start until 20 mins after open so you can get into Nintendo world!

Book your tickets before your holiday.
Book your tickets before your holiday.
Wake up early and reach the place by 7am. people start to queue by 6am.
Don't bring selfie or GoPro stick.
You can only get your Tax Free near the entrance from 2-10pm.
Downside is that people who got big tummies can't get to ride the roller coasters because they can't locked the safety guard.

Check a crowd calculator before you go.
Check a crowd calculator before you go. I don't know if USJ is smaller than tokyo disneyland but it definitely doesn't seem like it can hold as big of a crowd. If it's 40,000+ people don't bother going. It's like a layer of flesh across the whole park - walkways, benches, walls, floors... everything is packed with people let alone the rides. To put it into perspective we had to wait 15 minutes for the vending machine and 1 hour for popcorn (although the souvenir star popcorn carrier was totally worth it). If it's packed and you're going for the super mario area you can forget about getting all the stars with your bracelet. Also, the bracelet's not worth it if its crowded (for the reason I just mentioned) unless you're planning on going back someday. Lastly, if you can afford it I'd definitely recommend paying for the express passes. It'll save you so much time waiting. Just buying 3 ride passes saved us 6 hours of waiting time but I guess that also depends on how packed it is.

If you want to see Nintendo world book the add on ticket before you go. It is impossible to get in otherwise. I thought it was a complete disgrace that you can pay so much to get into the park and not even be able to walk around the Nintendo world area. We arrived at 8am and all the timed every tickets had gone! The only way to get in was to pay an extra £98 each for a pass. A complete con!

Too crowded.
Too crowded. If you do not mind queuing for hours just for a ride, this is a good place for you. Or if you do not mind pay for the experience of being in the nice environment, this is a perfect place for you

Great location, was only a 20 min walk from dotonburi (great for clubs/nightlife), and a 25 min train journey to universal studios japan. Room was very clean and comfortable.
Location is excellent for walking to Universal Studios Japan and the City Walk. The Minions theme was so cute and fun! Staff was exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and spoke better English than all the other hotels I stayed at in Tokyo and Osaka. I definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.
If you want to visit Universal Studios Japan then this hotel is definitely a good choice. The park is reachable within walking distance. Universal City offers many shops and restaurants, which was really convenient since we had no breakfast included. Also the metro is next to the hotel, so all sights in Osaka can be reached easily with public transport.
The hotel was a bit more expensive than other equally leveled hotels, but the excellent location for a Universal Studio visit was worth the extra money.
