We loved the private onsen in the rooms! The rooms were big and very clean. The hotel is surrounded by mountains, the view from the roof is wonderful. The view from the rooms (forest) is great, very calming.

Located in Okuhida Onsen Village among the Japanese Alps, Hodakaso Yamano Hotel features 7 public hot-spring baths and a fireplace lounge. Rooms offer beautiful mountain views and a private bathroom.

The private onsen was amazing, nice view from the room, breakfast and dinner were very good japanise style with good serving - staff from the restaurant was super good, foot bath inside the building was great, bus station right at the hotel.

Staff spoke good English and was very charming. Baths were incredible with a nice view of the stars and little light pollution. Was very quiet and futons were comfortable. Room felt like a home not a sterile hotel room as it had lots of extras like comfy sofa and reading light.

Ryokan Kutsuroginoya Yuu, hotel in Takayama

Kutsuroginoya Yuu has a Japanese garden, traditional Kaiseki dinners and indoor and open-air hot-spring baths. It is located a minute's walk from Ippousui Bus Stop. Parking is free at the property.

Wonderful room with private bath and garden view as well as public baths with outdoor part. Weather was rainy and it was great to stay indoor but also bathing outside. Personnel was extremely kind and dedicate, and made it very easy to communicate in English. We travelled with a 6 month old baby and they were extremely kind and provided all types of attentions to her. Kaiseki food offered was delicious. Souvenir shop, manga collection and common areas are amazing. There is a very convenient bus stop at the door and they also provided a shuttle from Hirayu Onsen bus stop on our arrival. Overall, a fantastic experience.

Katsuragi no Sato, hotel in Takayama

Located in the Okuhida hot-spring area, guests at Katsuragi no Sato stay in spacious Japanese-style cottages with free Wi-Fi, tatami (woven-straw) floors and a traditional Irori hearth.

Extremly comfortable with wonderful onsen and meals. The English speaking staff (the lady) was fantastic, told us about the history of this hotel and how they relocated the building from niigata to here, such marvelous story .

Kazeya, hotel in Takayama

Renovated in 2014, Kazeya overlooks the majestic Hida mountain range, and offers public and private hot spring-baths.

What pleased us most were the meals and the Yukata (Samuel) they did not provide. In addition, we were able to book the room with terrace and private Onsen, it was exceptional.
