Nozawa Onsen Utopia, hotel in Nozawa Onsen

Offering special “doburoku” sake, hot public baths and Japanese-style rooms, Nozawa Onsen Utopia is a 7-minute walk from Nozawa-Onsen Ski Resort. Free Wi-Fi is provided at the lobby.

We stayed at Utopia while going snowboarding. It was the perfect place! Warm and cozy, staff was amazing and super close to the city center. The walk to the mountain was very short. I'd highly recommend this hotel for a fairly budget friendly cozy space to stay. Sadly we didn't get to try the breakfast given our times there but it looked yummy. The front bar was also super cute although we never had a drink there.

Lovely little family-run inn in Nozawa Onsen. We stayed in a tatami room, with a small but very clean full bathroom. The location is great for the town, hikes, and several public bathhouses, and were provided with yukata for walking around town to the baths. The dinner and breakfast were vegetarian, with lots of egg and tofu as well as meat substitutes (she can also make vegan if requested).

The property definitely looks better than the pictures Very worth it if you are a group of around 4, can be a little cramped if more than 4 Host at Address Nozawa was super friendly (sorry I realize I didn't get your name), brought us to the property and gave us a map together with plenty of recommendations. Spoke good English as well! Nozawa Onsen town is a great place to explore on foot, really enjoyed my stay there even in mid Spring. Glad that we caught some Sakura trees despite being April

We love everything about this property! Our host is lovely and greeted us with local apples! The location is perfect for restaurants and onsens after skiing all day. The shower room is amazing!! Also, a washer and dryer which is so helpful with ski clothes. Nozawa Onsen is my favorite part of Japan. We can’t wait to visit again. Thank you for a wonderful visit!!!

The property is larger than expected for the price point. We were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness, breakfasts, and kindness of the owners! It is a 2-minute walk from a bus stop directly on the Nozawa Onsen bus line. You can either take the bus to Nozawa Onsen every morning for free or walk about 10 minutes. You can either sign up in the morning to use the bath in-house bath or you can choose from the many public onsens nearby. Great cost-performance hostel!

I didn't like anything about this apartment. It fell short of my expectations in all areas. The place was a shambles, filthy dirty, in disrepair and not ready to be rented out. It looked like it had been sparsely furnished with castoff, donated furniture, worn out appliances and ancient kitchenware. I cannot believe I paid $380USD per night to stay in this uncomfortable and filthy dump. I've never been so dissapointed in an apartment rental as I have been with NOZAWA ONSEN BASECAMP. I want my money back!

Nice hotel with bigger rooms than usual in Japan, staff was very helpful. The hotel lives up to its name, you have a great view over Nozawa Onsen from the upper floors. Be aware it’s a bit of a walk to the ski slopes. The breakfast was good, but it’s a Japanese set. Your western options are limited to some cereals, so you better like some fish in the morning. I’d stay again.
