We thought the place was very nice, location is amazing and great view. We enjoyed the garden and the food at the Japanese restaurant is very good. Confy rooms. We loved the onsen as well and had a relaxing time.

A beautiful older style property nestled in the mountains of Gora. Surrounded by lots of forest trees. The onsens were very hot and a good size. We stayed in a traditional style room which was large with a seating area that looks out of the window, capsule ensuite with little bath, and a tatami platform where the futon beds were. They provided us with slippers (no shoes allowed inside) and traditional style pyjama robes. There were helpful guides in English explaining how to use the onsen if it’s your first time. The staff were exceptionally nice and helpful. Although they don’t speak very much English they did everything to make our stay amazing. They picked us up with our luggage from the station. The highlight was the dining experience. The food was so fresh and delicious. They catered to my dietary needs (coeliac/gluten-free) and the food was abundant and thoughtfully prepared. On our first night they also surprised us with a bottle of bubbles to celebrate our recent wedding. The property is fairly close to the cable car station so you can get around Hakone fairly self sufficiently if you have good mobility but the path their is steep and uneven. We will absolutely return.
