We had a wonderful time at Ryokan Seifuso. The room and facilities were comfy and clean. The Japanese breakfast was delicious (both the vegetarian option as well as the regular). The kids enjoyed the western style breakfast.
The host were very friendly and accommodating.

The hotel is very clean, comfortable, quite new. It’s an amazing accommodation for the price. The room had all necessary amenities, filter coffee, and even a powerful hair dryer which is so rare.
The location is quite convenient too: about 10 minutes from JR Matsumoto station, with a few shops and a convenience store right around the corner. On the first floor there is a nice book store with a cafe.
Loved this hotel - the room was huge, comfortable and had a great view. The onsen was also really nice. Plus, they offer a free shuttle bus to Matsumoto station in the morning.
Its very near the matsumoto station, the bus terminal is literally beside the hotel, and you have alpico plaza beside it and a family mart for your late night snacking.
It also have ice maker machine!
Very small and cozy hostel run by a very charming and friendly team. Instructions on self-check-in were super well communicated ahead of arrival, which made getting in easy. The bed / pod was comfortable, with additional blankets provided (temperatures dropped to 6 at night, which was noticeable inside the dorm). Location is convenient, just 10 min on foot from Matsumoto station and maybe 5 mins from the centre of town. Plenty of eateries are all easily reached.
4-star upscale hotel not far from Matsumoto station. Easy walk to Matsumoto Castle as well as Nawate and Nakamachi shopping streets. Superb breakfast but with limited options for vegans / vegetarians; Japan is generally not a friendly place for them.

Free breakfast is convenient and even though choices are not expansive, they taste great and is enough to get you started for the day.

This is a very cosy small hostel located 20 min walk and 10 min bus ride from Matsumoto station. Matsumoto castle is a 5-10 min walk and there are many restaurants in the area. It is especially suitable for people who like to cook themselves. The kitchen is very clean and well-stocked with even a little toaster oven. The staff is super friendly and helped us call car rentals and restaurants when not speaking Japanese was an issue
