We used this hotel as a base for our walk up Fujisan; the Fujinomiya trail can be approached via car and subsequent shuttle. The hotel has plenty of free parking, which for us was a great asset. The layout follows the Dormy Inn formula, which makes it extremely comfortable and Japanese. The Onsen (= hot spring) is very nice, and there is free soup at night with free soft drinks, and other little gimmicks which are much appreciated. We would happily stay here again.

Hurry and Sailor are very friendly and thorough in explaining the place of interest around Gotemba and places to go in Mt Fuji. You got the beautiful Mt Fuji view directly from your room. Prompt replies to questions. Clear instructions. Good wifi. Location easy to find and within 5 mins walk from Gotemba station. Gorgeous view of Mount Fuji from the west facing windows. Really inspiring to be able to see Mount Fuji through your window immediately when you wake up. Good locations for food nearby. Easy to access the Gotemba Premium Outlets. We were able to easily get a bus from Gotemba Bus Station to go Lake Yamanaka, Oshino Hakkai and Lake Kawaguchi for great views of Mount Fuji, local culture and natural scenery.
The room and bathroom were spacious and well stocked, very easy to relax in. Really appreciated how quiet it was, renovations were going on at the time I stayed, but from the sound level in my room I never would've guessed. I simply walked from Gotemba station, but if you have more than one piece of luggage, this likely won't be easy. I had a comfortable, enjoyable stay, and would like to commend the staff for their graciousness.
The location is perfect! It's so close to Gotemba station but far enough away that you don't hear trains. The common room is an big, old movie cinema and it's a really cool space. The owner/manager was so helpful and friendly with everything. He gave us a bigger room when the hotel didn't have many bookings that night. Only regret was that we couldn't watch a movie because we were waking up early for Mt. Fuji.
