The hotel had a really cool vibe. Lobby area had lots of seating where you could eat the yummy breads and pastries on offer. A beer dispenser (you pay for that but its very reasonable) so you can have a drink listening to music from the record player.
Staff were super helpful. We had an issue with our next destination. The reception staff went above and beyond to help us solve it.
The rooms are small (this standard in Japan) but spotless and the layout was good.
Attractively situated in the centre of Kyoto, The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Kyoto features air-conditioned rooms, a shared lounge, free WiFi and a restaurant. This 5-star hotel offers a bar.

Very helpful staff made our stay so comfortable.
It was also a great decision to opt in for breakfast. We had Michelin star equivalent breakfast at the hotel restaurant.
