We came for the experience of staying in a pao yurt - and we were not disappointed. We loved the novelty of the accommodation space - and the excellent air con unit was welcome in 30 degree (c) heat. The location was terrific for what we wanted - we were lucky to have the yurt closest to the beach, with a 30 second stroll from our door to the water. Plenty of space for young ones to run around and use up their energy- a short walk to the Gotanji swim beach and the Yellow Pumpkin for stunning photos at sunrise and at night (without as many tourists crowding the photos), as well as easy access to the Benesse Art Site. The accommodation was at the end of the bus route and food options are limited, there is the onsite restaurant (bookings required) with a tasty filling dinner - there was also a vending machine with noodles boxes next to the kitchenette. For more food options it was simple to jump on the town bus and head to Miyanoura or Honmura. Clean toilet facilities onsite and the shared shower is - well, a shared shower, but it added to the rustic experience. The staff were very accommodating. We had a great time and we'd love to come back.

Super cool, really friendly staff. Great room, the bed and pillow however not very comfy. But would stay again, as the sun rise from the balcony is well worth triple the price.

Beautiful place. Great location and very nice room.
Great location close to Benesse House Museum. Town bus stop and shuttle bus stop right outside. Right on a beautiful beach. Dinner and breakfast were great (have to pre order). Staff was helpful and friendly. I loved the yurt. It was very comfortable and warm.
It was situated in a quaint fishing village between the Art House project and the Benesse house museum with both areas easily accessible by the public bus which stopped across the road from Episode 1. They are self contained cabins with a kitchen, if you want to cook, but there are three places to eat less than 50 metres away. We thought it was excellent value.
A great place to stay in Naoshima!
First, the location is very peaceful and it is directly in front of the sea - great to wake up or to enjoy the afternoon after visiting the island.
The location is amazing as you can see the Benesse House Museum and the yellow pumpkin from Kusama from there - very close!
The rooms (tents) are basic but have all you need and are not too cold.
