I really loved the view from our room! You are looking into this beautiful lake! Bus stop is just a minute away and a little town is charming. Close by you have Kegon falls too! To reach all most visited shrines is about 30min by bus. Please note bus goes through extremely mountainous road so be prepared!
The property itself is clean etc, however I do agree with some comments that is missing it’s identity. It have potential to be really amazing boutique hotel but at the moment is just plain and a bit basic.

The copper mine ride is good, a bit touristy though.
The copper mine ride is good, a bit touristy though. What is even better is the museum which documents the copper mine's history well. Probably the best part of Ashiodozan is just driving around the ruins. Probably best to park and see things close up - but watch out for the wild monkeys!
