We had a self catering apartment with stove, microwave, kettle and toaster which was really useful. The location was superb. The ginza line is moments away and and another useful line about 10 minutes away with direct trains to the Shinjuku area. There are many excellent restaurants nearby, Asakusa Temple, kitchen street and the Sky Tower all within easy reach. The hotel had amazing polite and kind staff, with free drinks in the lobby. Seriously was an excellent base for our 10 days in Tokyo with easy access to transport for day trips. Highly recommended

Ideally located in the Taito district of Tokyo, KOKO HOTEL Residence Asakusa Kappabashi is set 200 metres from Kinryu Park, 400 metres from Sogenji Temple and 400 metres from Akiba Shrine.

Everything’s very good. Will be better if advice is provided on the nearest JR / Metro station / private metro station. I was caught by surprise it’s quite a bit far walk from the nearest Tokyo metro station.

The Gate Hotel Ryogoku by Hulic, hotel in Tokyo

Set 1 km from Japan Stationery Museum, The Gate Hotel Ryogoku by Hulic offers 4-star accommodation in Tokyo and has a terrace, a restaurant and a bar.

The Gate Hotel Ryogoku is a few minutes easy walk to the station and offers excellent room facilities. It’s located in a quieter part of Tokyo opposite the Sumo wrestling stadium and adjoining the river. The room had all the necessities for a comfortable stay including a bathtub which was wonderful after a long day out walking. I would recommend this hotel and would return.

It is a very cute, clean, and cosy room. The staff were lovely, and I was glad I could check in earlier during the day at no extra cost. The markets around Asakusa are really interesting as you can buy lots of typically Japanese things such as rice cakes, fans, yukata, parasols, etc. Some of the shops are a bit touristy but you can find nice things at a reasonable price. I was really interested in the Japanese textiles and found a great museum of local crafts near one of the entrances to Senso-ji (the main temple).
