I felt like I was treated like family from Sami (I think this is the correct spelling) he was very helpful in organising every single part of my trip which honestly made the experience better. Sami had a local taxi driver called Ibrahim pick me up from the airport and he was just as helpful as Sami and later went on to bring me to and from the city entrance and the Dead Sea! These two men made my stay in Petra Plaza Hotel great!

Great trip worth every step going in April means less crowds and pleasant weather
Little Petra was amazing when entering from the back
Please don't ride the Donkeys it was very upsetting seeing some owners especially the teenagers hitting them with chains! Horses were treated much better, if you are going to Petra then have the wonderful experience of walking!!! (Also for cat and dog lovers take some extra food to feed them at the ticket box in little Petra)

Place is very well maintained, you can see there are some works done to keep it this way. Sadly there are turists there who support child labour and animal cruelty, even though it's highlighted in the visitors centre not to do so. Horse rides are official part of the visitor centre, that area is controlled, horses can take turists just to the entrance of Siq Trail which is a short distance with no hills, stairs etc. Sadly at the last part of the trail you can see local children working with donkeys, you can't blame locals, but you can blame turists still using these "facilities".

People all over the World knows about Petra and will want to see this how the Nabatean people lived. A beautiful walk to see all rocks formation that created over thousands of years.
As you walked and walked you get nearer to the Treasury, you get more excited and once you get there you felt an achievement and emotion welling in to see this famous city. Highly recommended. But please do stay overnight in nearby hotel. To allow you rest from the long walk and visit the Petra museum to explain in depth about the history.

Fantastic and amazing as you can imagine.
Fantastic and amazing as you can imagine.
Paying the beduin men to help you up the hill for amazing picture angles is worth it. We had a great time chatting with a younger guy nicknamed "Frenchie" and he had some IG/TikTok video skills. This kid was awesome. Charged us $15 to escort us up, we tipped him an extra $5...and would do it again in a heart beat.
It's chaotic, wonderful, beautiful and full of interesting people. Sit, enjoy a conversation, have some tea, chat with a Beduin named Wifi at the little cafe past The Treasury, or one named Ali who's a bit older and has camels and rents out caves for tourists to sleep in. It's definitely an experience beyond seeing the treasury and taking a quick picture.

This requires at least a 4-hour visit. It's good if you visit early in the morning. Follow seasonal timings. Try to walk in all the way to the end, then take buggy back to main gate which cost 15 JOD/pp

Great archeological site, unfortunately in the last years...
Great archeological site, unfortunately in the last years increase of local sellers taking over and setting up shop inside the attractions (before they were only at the paths to them). Also they fenced off many areas (Qasr al-Bint, inside Al-Siq), on the other hand they improved access to other sites (Tomb of 'Unayshu , Winged Lion Temple).

I was very kindly welcomed by Firas and his colleague.
They recommended me stuff and they took plenty of their time to explain me Petra, Jordan and the culture. We had long discussions about anything! I have never ever had such a good hotel experience! And I stayed at 5 star hotels like Hyatt before! I highly recommend Sunset hotel, because of the exceptional staff!!
Simple hotel, clean rooms, super comfortable beds, A/C heating. Friendly and helpful front desk, which is a standard in Jordan. Free parking in the hotel garage. It is located just a stone's throw from the Petra museum and visitor center. Breakfast served in the nearby Moon hotel. Good value for money.
Everything was superb. The hotel is close to Petra entry and tourism Street. Provides an amazing breakfast buffet. Rooms are well cleaned and specious with comfy beds and huge bathrooms. The staff welcomes you with the best Jordan hospitality. We did not try their restaurant but they can provide Shisha to smoking which is a great after a long day in letra
I had a fantastic two-night stay at this hotel. The host was exceptional, providing great recommendations for local dining and even dropping me off at the entrance of Petra. Breakfast was delicious, and they went above and beyond by assisting me with a flat tire. The hospitality of the Jordanians truly impressed me. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting the area!
Great stay, very friendly people. Nice gifts.
If you stay here for Petra and end up with a discount flyer behind your windshield for Reem restaurant, go eat there, it's 50m from the hotel.
Fine Jordan hospitality
Great location, only 6 mins from Petra. Very kind and generous staff, specially the manager Abdullah. The room is clean. The hotel is clean. The beds are comfortable. Breakfast can be a little better, but it's not a big deal. Overall, one of our best stays in Jordan
Good location of the apartment house - close not only to the entrance to Petra, but also to the center of Wadi Musa. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel owner was friendly, interested in helping us. He allowed us to store our luggage after check-out and pick it up later.
The room was nice and Clean and with all the service as a normal hotel ( I would not not describe it as a hostel, but as a 2/3 stars hotel. The welcoming was nice. The room had a balcony too.
The hostel is 3 minutes far from Petra visitor center by car and 2 minutes far from all the restaurants.
Breakfast was local. They were very kind to bring it to us! Location was perfect! Not far from the petra entrance. The host was very helpful. Facilities were excellent. The heat in each room was perfect, if you visit in the cold months. I highly recommend this place for families or groups. The price for a whole apartment was way better than any hotel. Had hot water! They brought us extra towels. Beds were comfy! Extra blankets provided. Plenty of places to plug in for electronics (phone charger, baby sound machine, etc.)

Petra is one of the most impressive World Heritage sites I have visited. Having been several times I still stand in awe as the Treasury is revealed at the end of the Siq. There is always something new to discover and you really feel a sense of achievement when you walk up to the Monastery!
