Uffizi Gallery
What makes Florence the epicentre of art? All of it; but specifically the Uffizi Gallery. Its collections cover the ages, but its darlings will always be Renaissance born. You won’t find a better Art History 101 refresher. Hours wilt away inside this U-shaped mansion. The Birth of Venus tops many a best-of list. Better book tickets in advance – the masterworks cause quite a queue.

It is complicated to buy the tickets ahead of time, to get in the right line, and to get the audio to work. After you get in the art highlights are way too crowded. Wonder art made unattractive by poor organization.

Get tickets for 8:15 AM, go with nothing but your camera and don't check your coat. Head directly to the Botticellis, and then to the Da Vinci's, Raphaels and the Michelangelo to enjoy them without the crowd, and then double back for the Gothic paintings. Do NOT make the mistake of pausing to view sculptures on the entrance level. Do NOT get distracted by the Gothic masters. Speed walk to the Botticellis and then the Ninja Turtles or you'll be viewing them across crowds jostling for selfies.

Packed with stunning art work including “Spring” and “The birth of Venus” by Botticelli. We looked at most of the works and spent 3 1/2 hours there. The queues were long, I’d advise prebooking your tickets.

1. DEFINITELY get "skip the line" tickets. 2. Don't forget that you still have to wait in line to exchange the "skip the line" tickets for the admission tickets. 3. Don't forget you then have to wait in line with all the other "skip the line" ticket holders to actually get in. Plan accordingly and enjoy the FABULOUS art!

My second time going: make the reservation, folks!! You want to get in early and take your time. I wish I knew more about the ceilings and walls of the actual building. I must, must, must see for anyone slightly interested in art. I can't wait to return again!

The location was amazing, 10 minutes walk from Santa Maria Novella train station. The hotel was right in the heart of the duomo and shopping area with lots of restaurants and cafes around. Also close to the Ponte Vecchio and Uffizi Gallery. The hotel room was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. Bed us super comfy and large.
The accommodation was perfect – clean, comfortable, and ideally located near major attractions like the Duomo and the Uffizi Gallery. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment. It exceeded all of my expectations. I will definitely stay at the Palazzo Capponi the next time I visit Florence. Highly recommended.
50m from the Ponte Vecchio, with a view over the crowds, and 100m from Uffizi Gallery. Classical European experience, even the heavy door is like something out of the DaVinci Code. 10min walk to the Duomo, and to pretty much any of the main sights you need to visit.
The location was absolutely fantastic, and the apartment was very large and very, very well equipped, A real home away from home. It was a pleasure to stay in such a location right overlooking the River Arno, close to a very good supermarket, less than 15 minutes walk from the Uffizi Gallery and and less than a 30 minute walk from Santa Maria Novella train station. We got a terrific introduction and key-handover from the firm that own this and other apartments in Florence.
Perfectly clean, excellent location near Uffizi gallery, amazing staff. Gave us some restaurant recommendations and even let us leave our luggage there for a few hours after checking out! Would definitely come back.
Great location for visiting pitti palace (5 mins), Boboli gardens (3 mins walk) and Uffizi Gallery (10 mins walk). The space is furnished so well. The warm hosts are helpful and super responsive on messages or whatsapp. Easy to access via bus which takes you to SMT firenze station. In addition there is cheap shopping finds at the Sante Spirito piazza. Also for vegan travellers, two quick vegan restaurants around (raw firenze and santo falafel). The host had great recommendations on food and planning our 3 day stay.
Amazing location. A few minutes walk from the Duomo, Ponte Vechio, Uffizi Gallery and Palazzo Vechio. Clean and comfortable. Staff at the Hotel Signora where you check in were very helpful and friendly and it is possible to leave luggage at the hotel when you check out allowing a few more hours in Florence without cases!
The room was ample and the bed very comfy, everything clean too. Ayet was very nice with us and helped us to store our luggage before our check-in time. She is very patient and attentive. The location is perfect and it has lots of public transportation links to all the main sites, including the Uffizi gallery which is just a few steps away.
The location is unbeatable, just a 15 to 30-minute walk to all the major attractions, including the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, and Ponte Vecchio. This made it extremely convenient to explore the city on foot without missing a thing. The neighborhood felt safe and vibrant, with plenty of charming cafes, restaurants, and shops nearby. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the best of Florence from a central, accessible spot!
