This church is much more interesting than the Duomo (although the outside of the Duomo is impossible to beat!). It is a very large church and has extensive grounds and tombs. Although we had been to Florence a number of times, we had never been inside because every time we were in that area, the church was closed.

The place is a few minutes walk from the Santa Maria Novella train station making it ideal when arriving by train. The staff were extremely responsive, polite and attentive during the whole duration of the stay. The kitchen, room and bathroom were all clean, with all necessities working optimally. Great for a solo traveler.
The hostel is about 15min walk from Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station. It is close to restaurants, supermarkets and cafes.
The room is big enough for 6 guests, but there is only one bathroom (shower and toilet are separated) and it is very small and you barely have space to put your belongs and get dressed when you take a shower.
Each bed had its own light, USB and power. outlet.
I don't know how was breakfast, but it is 10 euros.
They have a luggage room and you have to pay 3 euros to use it.
Home Boutique Santa Maria Novella was in a great location, not too far from the train station, Santa Maria Novella, and the river. It was the perfect base for a quick one night stay in Florence. The staff was very friendly and accomodating.
The hotel is extremely well located within the historic center of Florence. The hotel is on the beautiful Piazza Santa Maria Novella, a very short walk from the train station. The hotel room was spacious and nicely decorated. The staff were very attentive to our needs. Housekeeping kept our room very clean. Even the same laundry service was excellent. We are returning to Florence in 2 weeks and have booked another stay at Hotel Roma! We highly recommended this hotel.
