This hotel in wonderful corner of the Dolomites, with fewer tourists than the other towns we stayed in. It’s a great location for both local hiking (right out the door!) and also for easy access to several famous Dolomites hikes including Cinque Tori, Pelmo, Civetta and Marmolada.
Patrick the proprietor was an absolutely wonderful host! He shared info about local hiking trails and many other well known hikes.
It was really nice to stay in a family owned hotel. It was extremely clean and comfortable, and it has a very personal and cheerful atmosphere.
Our room had a stunning view of the mountains and the valley. (Every room has a balcony!) The bed was very comfortable and the room was cozy on several chilly nights.
Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We were energized for a day of hiking! While we ate we chatted with Patrick.
Selva di Cadore is a one-minute drive away and has a tourist office, a fantastic pizzeria (where we ate each night), and a museum. It was lovely to walk from one village to the next on the walking trail.
Set in front of the 2 UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Mount Civetta and Massiccio del Pelmo, Hotel Nigritella offers a free bus to the nearest ski elevators and a games room with billards.
