Italy’s first capital, sophisticated Turin has many elegant buildings and porticoed streets. Large Piazza Castello is the focal point and centres on Palazzo Madama, an unusual structure with a Renaissance façade and medieval body.
The next door Royal Palace backs onto Turin Cathedral, home to the Turin Shroud, the cloth with an imprint of Christ only rarely on display. Its museum is just one of the many fantastic Turin museums. None is better than the Egyptian Museum, the largest collection of Egyptian artefacts outside Cairo. Also noteworthy is the Mole Antonelliana, housing displays on Italian cinema and supposedly the world’s tallest museum.
By the Po, Italy’s longest river, is the Parco del Valentino, a tranquil park that is home to the Borgo Medievale, an artificial, medieval-style settlement with a castle.
However, within Italy, Turin is best known for sport and cars. FIAT is based here and nostalgia lovers can visit the rooftop track on top of their old Lingotto factory, now a conference centre. The city’s 2 Serie A football clubs - Torino and Juventus - also have electric atmospheres at their games.
Watch out for amazing views of the Alps as you fly into Turin Airport. Public transport then quickly links you to your Booking.com hotel, B&B or hostel.

Turin is the headquarters of Fiat and is thus a large manufacturing center possibly comparable to Detroit. Unlike a trip there in 2000, on this 2024 trip, I saw gang markings everywhere, on so many walls. It reminded me of NYC in the 70's. But the city has so many museums, it is well worth the trip. Do not miss the Museo della Sindone, the Shroud Museum, even if you're in Turin for one of the rare occasions when the Shroud itself is on display.

Great city to visit.
Great city to visit. Full of life, nice people and places to see. The only thing I was sad was not being able to visit the Egyptian Museum (it was closed for renovation). Well, it gives me a great excuse to come back in the future.

Nice city with impressive architecture and beautiful, wide, tree-lined streets and avenues. All major sights are within walking distance if the accommodation is chosen carefully and with a view to walkability. People are very friendly and show an interest in tourists. Via Roma and the sorrounding area is a must for visitors. The climate is humid but not as bad as in MIlan. Unlike in Milan, taxi drivers are friendly and helpful, funnily they will give themselves a tip without asking you, but their friendly and timely service justifies the self-awarded tips. Turin is ignored by most tourists, who flock to Milan and Rome instead. This is a grave mistake, I encourage everybody to spend 2-4 days in Turin, it is a nice place.

With somewhat of a French feel, Turin is a very unique and characteristic Italian city. I liked that it was safe and peaceful, with better quality of air. It is also great for its diversity and dedication to culture and the arts, both classic and contemporary. There is so much to see and do; you could easily spend 3 days visiting. If you are en route from Italy to France, you should definitely stop in Turin.

Turin is a fantastic Italian city and not supercrowded with tourists. A lot of beautiful palazzos and the amazing Royal Castle. It is easy to walk with the famous arched and covered walkways, very useful in hot summer or if it rains. Nice restaurants with nice food, amazingly beautiful caffees with nice coffee or bicerin and pastries. And of course, gelato! Streets are very clean.
There are a lot of amazing museums, whatever is your interest: cars, fine art, cinema/films, etc.
Beautiful nearby places: Superga (amazing panoramic view on Torino), La Venaria Reale (former royal residence), etc.
Museo Egizio houses one of the largest collections of Egyptian antiquities.
I can recommend restaurant Da Michele 1922 on Piazza Vittorio Veneto. Very nice staff and super Italian food. Try farinata and pizza as well.

Beautiful city and so easy to get around on foot and via Metro. Plenty to see and do. Amazing park, architecture and people who were really friendly and had the time to converse with us. Most of the people spoke excellent English which made it far too easy for us. Excellent train services in and around town and from the airport too.
Everything is highly well-maintained by its staffs, who are superbly attentive and professionally polite to their guests. The room was very much standard to the other HILTON branches around the world, and the overall cleanliness is beyond the average 4-star rated hotels that are based in Italy. Although it was only a night of staying at this hotel, as a frequent business traveler around Europe, Asia, and the US, I can definitely say this specific hotel is "far beyond the average" in overall aspects.
Love the ease of which you can walk to Via Roma, Egyptian Museum, Port Nova Station is a 15 minute walk. Easy Access to Lingotto by metro to what was once the Fiat factory now shopping centre , 5 minutes away a fabulous car museum plus the eateries Eat Italy. Love Torino fabulous city.
I was breaking a rail journey from Rome to London in Turin. I selected the hotel for its proximity to the Porta Susa railway station from where I had an 0730 departure. The hotel was spotlessly clean; the staff friendly and helpful. There were no deficiencies with the property or the room.
The hotel is located just in the city centre, easy to find and navigate around Turin. Great bonus the balcony. Breakfast is very basic while staying in Italy would expect to receive nice coffee at least. The room was comfortable, spacious.
Very comfortable stay for group of people. We enjoyed three separate rooms, comfortable beds, clean and fresh modern enviroment with vintage vibe. What is nice to experience when you are in Turin. Not far from old town.
