Such a wonderful gem. This place is tranquility itself, with wonderful people and delicious food that follows a farm to fork philosophy. We did not use the spa facilities that are also available, though can see how well that would fit into the overall ambience.
The building is filled with history and beautifully decorated. The rooms are very spacious and incredibly comfortable. As you wander from your room to the breakfast area, or library, or sitting room you pass tranquil gardens and many a nook and cranny to tuck yourself away into.
The team here are happy to help organise anything you might wish to do.
I can not recommend it enough.

The Jallianwala Bagh has been made into a an excellent showcase of the tragedy that befell here and its been portrayed poignantly by encapsulating the history around it. Luckily, its a large area and allows you walk around, listen and read at your own pace. The downside of the memorial are our very own Indian tourists who clearly have no understanding of what the history is and the related tragedy here and have made this a selfie ground - selfies in front of the bullet holes on walls that have been preserved, selfies everywhere.
It would be nice if the government actually ran this as group tours with fixed number of people like they do in places like Auschwitz, where history can be learned and mood and tone of the place maintained rather this being treated like a holiday with children running amok, babies wailing and everyone else taking selfies. It was sad to see how selfies have triumphed any and all attempts at educating the new age public in what was a turning point in the India's struggle for freedom.

The hotel's location is extremely convenient, as the Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh were both within walking distance. The rooms were clean, and well-maintained. The hotel staff was helpful and courteous. They also arranged for cars to take us to the Wagah border and dropped us off at the airport early in the morning. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel BlackWood, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Amritsar.
The hotel is in the heart of Amritsar. The Golden Temple is about 15 minutes away by rickshaw, as are Jallianwala Bagh, Partition Museum and the Gobindgarh fort. The Attari-Wagah border is about 40 kilometres away, as it is from anywhere in the city, so no disadvantage there either.
Situated at the heart of the city Anjana Cottage is the perfect relaxing stay for you in Amritsar. Walkable distance from golden temple, jallianwala bagh and food & shopping streets. We researched a lot while booking the hotel and it turned out to be one of the best decisions of the season. Neat and calm atmosphere, welcoming staff, cosy and comfortable rooms with all facilities made it a perfect budget friendly choice for our trip.
Service was good Ankush and Mandeep were very helpful. AC was working fine. Intercom was there, Cleanliness of room and bathroom was good. It is a home stay. It has 8 rooms. 3 triple beds and 5 double beds. Ground + 2 floors. No lift. Hot water available. Near to jallianwala bagh and Golden temple. Area is residential and peaceful and Safe.
As breakfast was included in price of room we had it, Paratha tea and coffee was good. We didn't had a meal and there is no restaurant in hotel. Rest everything is fine.
Location was great, It was very close to Golden Temple and Jallianwala bagh which was very helpful to save time. Hotel offers free Ele rickshaw ride to near places. Very limited but lot of variety of breakfast and delicious.
The location is great and 3 tourist attractions : Golden Temple, Partition Museum and Jallianwala Bagh are close by within walkable distance. As this hotel is in the main market, you can also do some shopping.
