An absolutely beautiful Victorian style property. The landscaping was beautiful too. We view from our window was idyllic. The location was minutes from Trim Castle and the village center. The owner gave us directions to one of the oldest pubs in Ireland and we explored the ruins of an Abby along the way to it. We loved our stay at Highfield House and highly recommend you stay for more than one night. We wish we would have.!
Only stayed 1 night prior to departure. Hotel is central to Trim and short walk to Trim Castle. Rooms/bath were clean and comfortable. Wish we had more time to explore Trim.
Very clean and cute. Right in the center of Trim. A five minute walk from Trim Castle. We spent about an hour at Bounty Bar the night we left and that was lots of fun too.
The property and the rooms were exquisite. The bedroom and bathroom were absolutely lovely. Mary and Tony went over and above to ensure our comfort and were wonderfully gracious. Tony even dropped us off in Trim so we wouldn’t have to drive, and after dinner we enjoyed a 30-minute stroll back to the house, passing Trim Castle and an ancient abbey along the way. This was truly a fabulous place to stay.
This is a great hotel in a great location! The rooms were clean and large. The location can't be beat. We parked at the hotel and were able to check in, go see Trim castle and go eat dinner in town without having to drive. It was awesome!
Great location, walking distance to Trim Castle and downtown area. One of our favorite stays in Ireland, large room, and nice size bathroom. Caroline was there to greet us and made us feel right at home.
Lovely hotel situated across the road from Trim Castle and about 30 minutes by car from Dublin airport. Comfortable bed and an excellent breakfast. I use a CPAP machine and the closest plug I could use was by the desk (the two that power the bedside lamps use proprietary plugs that no known adapter will fit). I called reception and they brought me a couple of extension cords that did the job nicely. Safe, secure under-the-hotel parking. Even if it's winter, go to level 3 for the rooftop bar for photos....
The best part of Castle Arch is the entrance and staying inside a former Wellington barracks wall was a treat, but inside it's more like a regular hotel than a B&B. Parking on the premises was great. The room was large, bed comfortable, it was clean and there was a bathtub, but it wasn't as clean as I would have preferred. Breakfast was more hotel buffet--with store-bought bread vs. bakery breads. Compared to other B&B's we stayed in it was average. The location is a 5 minute walk from Trim Castle.
Everything was exceptional. Greeted, upgraded our room( to give us more room to consolidate our luggage, for the trip home), showed us the property. we felt like family. Bed was extremely comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower is amazing. Breakfast was amazing, cooked to order, even got to try black and white pudding. Location was great we walked down and around Trim Castle.
If your coming into or getting ready to leave Ireland stay at Caravogue house, you won’t regret it.
