Wasn’t overly impressed with the breakfast - have stayed here before and breakfast was served to you. This time it was buffet style, don’t know if breakfast is bought in but the quality of food has dropped significantly (in my opinion). The sausages were inedible, more fat on the bacon than actual bacon, no white pudding available - had to ask for it and could have done with a bit more cooking time. I was actually quite sick (vomiting) after the breakfast, just before we checked out.

We ended up at Kettles unexpectedly and last minute after a breakdown near Lusk on our way back to Derry from Cork on New Year’s Day! We were very lucky to get a room at a very reasonable price last minute and had a happy and comfortable stay after what had been a very stressful experience. The staff in the bar and restaurant in particular were fantastic, they just couldn’t have been nicer - particularly the woman on breakfast duty the next morning. We didn’t get her name but it was the morning of January 2nd - a lovely person and so helpful, especially with accommodating some allergies that I have. If we find ourselves in the area again under happier circumstances we’d be happy to return to Kettles.
Originally built in 1867, this charming town house has been tastefully renovated in a modern style, whilst retaining its historic charm, with stained glass windows and high coved ceilings.
The staff were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble!
