The Irish breakfast was catered to our wants and had other options if you didn’t want a hot breakfast. Geraldine and Rosy couldn’t have been more welcoming and generous with sharing her home. Shower and beds were fabulous.

Absolutely worth the visit and plan to spend better part of a day at Birr. The telescope and scientific exhibits are fascinating, and the castle tour is enlightening to learn about the Earls and their families. The gardens are beautifully maintained and a joy to explore.

Take time to visit this property!
Take time to visit this property! The castle is only available to see through a tour, a family still lives there, but the property is immense, with alot of walking paths, gardens, water, and science. I had no idea how much this family had contributed to the field. Absolutely amazing. We only had a couple hours and I wish I’d had a whole day… at least.

Good value room with Irish breakfast included in a residential house. Nice and friendly hosts.
Located close-ish to Birr Castle Demesne, which is why we chose it.
Feels like a rural residential area. Hosts recommended a nice restaurant in walking distance where we dined.
Brona was a wonderful host, and we had a very restful stay. The location is a short drive to Birr Castle and downtown, and Brona gave great lunch/dinner recommendations. Facilities were very clean, and the bed was so comfortable.
lovely twin room, tastefully decorated, very centrally located just across from Birr castle, good choice for breakfast, lovely lounge area downstairs, and nice courtyard with outdoor seating.
