I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel in Budapest! The view of the Parliament and the bridge was amazing, especially at night. The location is excellent, close to all the main attractions.

The room we had on the top floor was quite large and had a very good bathroom. One side has toilet, shower and sink. The shower smelled a bit when I entered the room, as if the plumbing with the toilet was connected. The other side of the room had a large (very nice) bathtub with good hot water and pressure, a sink and a good vanity area. Our bed was quite large. It was a little hard for my taste, but the beds in hotels in Europe tend to be firmer. The furniture was okay but looked a little bit like IKEA or other sort of semi-nice, but cheap furniture. There was a large closet, safe, steamer and iron. The best part was the buffet breakfast. Lots of good choices. Expensive if not included in your rate. About $23 USD per person. The location of the hotel is excellent. There aren’t any views that I saw from the hotel as it is back a block from the river and surrounded by buildings. But it is a block to the river and a couple of blocks from the Parliament. You can walk to many points of interest from here. We also took Ubers and Bolt from the location. Booked some tours through Airbnb Experiences (private tuk tuk tour was our favorite) and a Parliament and city court through Get My Guide.

Matthias Church
Over 700 years old, this ancient place of worship has seen Budapest’s history develop all around it. Its lofty spire shoots up from a cobblestone square on Castle Hill – where frescoes embellish interiors and the sun shines down on a roof covered with a mosaic of Zsolnay ceramic tiles. When you wander around, keep an eye out for King Matthias’ coat of arms depicting a black raven.

The exterior is fantastic, but the interior, while lovely, it not relatively spectacular. Painted columns and pretty pictures reminded me of how much the the Christians copied from the amazing Grande Mesquite of Cordoba.
Wish I’d visited the free St. Steven’s Cathedral to give you a fair comparison, or simply not paid for St. Matthias entry.
