We stayed here as a couple and had an amazing time. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, and helpful too. They booked restaurant tables for us and were always happy to help. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the room we stayed in was really nice. It was extremely clean, the beds were comfy and the overall ionic style was lovely. We were celebrating a birthday and got some extra champagne and a cake delivered to the room for arrival which was really nice (paid extra). The breakfast was great as other reviews mention, and the spa was quite nice. We found the spa to be busy at around 5 pm.
The location is great and it is close to many shops and touristy locations we pretty much walked everywhere. It was about 45 mins to the river to walk but taxis were available in a couple of minutes.
Overall we loved it and if we were coming back to Budapest we would re-book in an instant!

Well staged, and an uncomfortable look at Hungary's 20th Century history, from the fall of the Austro-Hungarian empire in 1918, to the fall of Communism in 1989.
Some uncomfortable truths about what the Hungarians did to each other there too and some lessons there...

It says it is free for over 7o year olds but that doesn't apply to Brits and more! You need the audio to appreciate the full horror of ther place. We used the leaflets at the entrance to each floor to help us understand what went on here, and in Hungary

It is really impressive and I suggest to visit it only if you are not easily impressionable. When I visited it, there were some instances that caused some people around me strong emotional responses, some of them burst into tears while some wanted to leave earlier.

Not really a place to fill you with joy and happiness, but well worth a visit to explore some dark times for the country in the not-so-distant past. Worth checking the website for opening times though as I got caught out on my first attempt to visit because it is closed on Mondays. You can get there using public transport but it's an easy enough walk from the city centre, with some nice coffee shops on the way.

Clean, modern property in an excellent location on Andrassy Avenue on the edge of the Jewish Quarter and a short metro ride away from City Park and Heroes Square, the State Opera, and the House of Terror museum. Unexpectedly quiet and restful given its location on a busy street; excellent soundproofed windows. New mattresses provide excellent support for a restful sleep. Buffet breakfast is the best we ever had in all our travels. Friendly, accommodating staff speaks and understands English.
