Had a wonderful stay in Rixos! The view from the room was fantastic and refreshing. The location of the hotel is very convenient; it takes just a 10-minute walk to reach the old town, making exploring very easy. The hotel staff were all very friendly and attentive, always willing to help. The breakfast and dinner at the hotel were also delicious, making my stay even more enjoyable.

If you want to visit beautiful Dubrovnik, book an appartment just outside the old town. Get up very early and start your tour in Dubrovnik between 7 and 8 am. The Stradun is almost empty at that time. Between 9 and 10 the first boats and busses arrive and the main streets get overcrowded. A good time to start your walk on the walls. In the afternoon, when it's hot, visit Rector's palace, churches... Have a nice dinner and return to your quiet appartment (while the old town is noisy most of the night...)

Go early - Europe starts from 9am so if you want to see the Stradum without the crowds, around 8am will give you a much better view for photos that are not all photo-bombed by everyone else in love with this historic city.

Get in early to miss crowds, lots of cruises come in so check how many ships are in the day/days you are going in to town. Great place to people watch and have coffee or drinks and just relaxing and enjoy.

Nice vibe on the street. Plenty of action but can get quite crowded. Busy in late September which should be off season so could be uncomfortable in mid-summer. Lots of walking tour groups clog up the streets.
Excellent location of hotel, for walking distance to Stradun (for the brave one ;-)) or convenient local public transport. Hotel has own parking so no need to use the car during the stay. Room are very spacious with balcony. Choice of food for breakfast excellent.
Great apartment in a fabulous location off the Stradun in old town Dubrovnik and only up a couple of steps to the entrance. Right next door to excellent restaurants and cafes. Apartment was clean and well appointed with everything we needed including kitchen supplies and beach towels for swimming. Host was very helpful.
Fantastic location right in the Old Town. Cute tiny apartment within a house containing several apartments. Had all you need including a small kitchen, shower room - and efficient A/C thank goodness. Turning left out of the apartment and heading down into Old Town you can find lots of restaurants and bars very close (Soul Kitchen is great), Stradun, and Pile Gate; and turning right and down the Jesuit Stairs gets you to the harbour and Ploce Gate. It is so pretty to just wander about.

The apartment was spotlessly clean, wonderfully furnished and excellently located. A roof terrace in the centre of Dubrovnik seemed very rare so this was a lovely added bonus and ideal for sitting/eating outside whilst enjoying unique views over the Stradun and the rest of the Old Town. The owner was also excellent, very friendly and provided some lovely complimentary wine, biscuits and sweets! She was really helpful to us and went out of her way to ensure we had the best time possible.
The roof terrace was stunning, such a beautiful way to enjoy our breakfast and a drink before dinner. The bed was comfortable and the flat had everything that we needed. The shutters were really effective and kept out all light and some noise (there is always noise in the Old Town). The location of the apartment was absolutely wonderful, it was so close to the main street (Stradun) and the harbour area. But also close to the Buza gate so not too far to carry suitcases. The staff were great, a real pleasure to deal with.
