When it comes to pretty coastal towns, it doesn’t get much better than Makarska. This little settlement is flanked by sea on one side, and towering cliffs on the other. If you’re feeling active, hire a kayak and paddle out into the impossibly clear waters of the harbour – your reward will be an incredible snapshot looking back towards the town.
