If you plan to walk, be sure to do so after sunset.
If you plan to walk, be sure to do so after sunset. Once you reach the top, you will enjoy the gorgeous city views. Walking advised only for those with endurance. Those any impediments will struggle and take a long time to ascend the climb.

If you can't walk the many stairs to cable car, take a taxi to cable car. 2 restaurants at the top with incredible views. Be cautious near church and lookout. Suspicious person followed us there and even down to the restaurant.

We walked to Lycabettus and then walked up the path to the top. Try to do this in the morning before it gets too hot.
The path is good and we’ll maintained. Just go slowly. There is a cafe towards the top.
Great views over all of Athens, and you can look down on the Acropolis

The views are amazing.
The views are amazing. If you are reasonably fit don't take the funicular....the views are brilliant on the walk up and down. And you've earned a nice coffee or drink with the €10 per person you saved!

Being the highest point around Athens, this is a great place to view the whole city. I read a good tip on going up with the teleferik/cable car, then go down via the side pathway, which we did and would thoroughly recommend.
The location is close to all the embassies, if like me, you needed to deal with some official stuff alongside your trip. The area is full of museums and parks.
About 7 minutes walk from Syntagma and Ermou and 20 minutes to Lycabettus hill. There is a nice 24 h bakery "Le pain" about 2 minutes from the apartment.
The apartment is very spacious and well maintained. Well equipped kitchen and 2 luxurious bathrooms.
The host was so kind and showed us around the property at first. We were able to store our luggage, and all of our questions were answered. The terrace was magical in the evening, as you can see the Acropolis and Lycabettus Hill lit up. The room was huge and clean, and even came with a balcony. The bathroom had everything you need. There is also a shared full kitchen and little area with TV. The place is also pretty close to the city center- only a short bus or tram ride away. For this price, this accommodation is unbeatable!
