Acropolis
Long before it became known as Bloomfield Falls, this magnificent waterfall was called Wujal Wujal by the indigenous Kuku Yalanji people. Hire a guide and learn why these people still consider Wujal Wujal to be sacred. Or just head down with your 4x4 and a picnic hamper, and have lunch in serious style!

No trip to Athens would be complete without visiting the Acropolis, and it certainly lived up to the hype. Standing in front of the Parthenon, surrounded by ancient ruins, was a humbling experience. The view of the city from atop the hill is breathtaking, and it’s easy to imagine the grandeur of ancient Athens.

There is no words to add for the Acropolis, however please mind to buy tickets at the Acropolis entrance which cost just 10 euros or at the official acropolis tickets website, rather than having them bought online in third party sites which cost almost double.

The site is incredible but I felt it lacked the luster that I expected as far as detailed historical information. Yes, there were plaques and signs, bur I suppose I wanted more than was available. If you want detailed information, definitely buy the guided tour.

Bring lots of water, go early in the day to avoid crowds, hold on to ropes and poles as the marble steps are very slippery, do not touch any of the monument, there is a very fresh from springs water fountain on the top, there's a water bottle dispenser however it only takes coins, if approached by someone for a tour versus obtaining a tour ahead of time, be prepared about the price and the clarity of their language. Besides that the Acropolis is amazing and if you can and you have gone early in the day, try to sit and imagine that this is in the area of where democracy written history philosophy mathematics begin. Other than parts of it Asia of course.

You are exposed to the weather so take it in consideration. They are let up in groups...the $30 euro tkt allows you to see various sites after the Acropolis for 5 days...worth it if you feel you'll take the time...otherwise go with just the $20 Euro
Metro station is next to the apartment! Very clean room with air-conditioning and hot water! The neighborhood is quiet and very close to the center of Athens and Acropolis. The host was great!
PERFECT! We will book this every time we are in Athens!
Perfect location, very clean!!! And the staff was very helpful, they booked a taxi for us and let us leave our bags there until our flight which was at midnight! Also they got in our apartment to clean it after 2 days of our stay! Also there was an amazing common balcony with a view of Acropolis! Amazing stay in general!
Nice modern hotel in centre of Athens. Very warm welcome on arrival. All the staff were very friendly and professional. Nothing was too much trouble. Good sized bedrooms, comfortable bed. Good shower in bathroom, and a balcony. Very clean.
Large dining room, with good buffet breakfast. The highlight was the roof terrace bar with the most amazing view of the Acropolis.
Easy walking distance to nice bars, restaurants and shops.
There's even a small outdoor pool.
Great apartment, near to the center, very close to all the visitor's interesting points in Athens, especially to the Acropolis! I liked the clean apartment and I liked Sylvia! Very good location and nice apartment!! Sylvia recomanded us the best restaurant at prosper prices and great quality in the City!
The location is excellent since you are walking distance of the most attractions of Athens city center, Acropolis, Monastiraki and also the hotel located in the lively neighborhood of Psiri. In case you have car, the hotel is co-operating with a nearby private parking (30m distance). Room was big and clean. Nice touch in the room a small bowl with lukumi (traditional delight). Last but not least...the personnel. So polite, always with a smile.
The hotel is in the old city of Athens, where all the important places are. You can walk to the Acropolis, there is also a metro and bus nearby. The breakfast is amazing, the room clean, and the staffs are smiling. The hotel is cleaned every day. I recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning to travel to Athens.
Location and the apartment - spacious, very clean and warm - January. Close to the Acropolis and the Plaka area. Washing machine and drier great for travelers. Very secure . Would recommend the apartment for a stay in Athens
Jaidin Maison is a value for money apartment in old Athens city and close to Acropolis. The facility is completely furnished, excellent and secured with security cameras. We would like to stay here again in the future 🤩🫶
This establishment was perfect for what we were doing in Athens. Excellent room in at a small but nicely presented apartment hotel. The staff are really lovely and very helpful. Its walkable distance from the Acropolis (the main reason we were there). The room was very well appointed and the whole establishment is contemporary with quiet luxury, however not over priced.
Top location - in the center of the city, 5 min from Acropolis, very quiet and art neighbourhood. Perfect communication with the owner. The apartment is super stylish and has everything you need. There is a parking 5 min from the hotel (30 euro for 24 h).

Go beyond the Acropolis and explore the Agora and Kerameikos, imagining yourself entering Athens along the road from the port of Piraeus, and following the Panathenaic Way to the Akropolis. Stop at the museums along the way to understand the significance of each site. Then visit the National Archaeological Museum to see that classical Athens is just one of Greece's many magnificent cultures.

If you want to avoid crowds while seeing the famous sights, start out early and be at the sights when they open. I arrived at the Acropolis around 8:10 AM and there were only around 20 people on the whole compound. It was wonderful! There was a crowd climbing the hill when I descended, though!

Consider visiting Athens in May or September.
Consider visiting Athens in May or September. May is just lovely. Spring flowers like poppies and daisies cover the hills. It's not too busy and not too hot. Remember that on holidays you are always moving so consider the weather when you make your plans. Also, research opening hours as the Acropolis is closed May 1; and other Ancient Landmarks are closed on certain days and on certain hours any other day.
