The Resident Covent Garden, hotel in London

Situated in the West End of London, just a few minutes walk to Covent Garden Piazza and Charing Cross station, the hotel features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi.

It was nice to be positively surprised for once. The room turned out to be cleaner than expected (very clean), and better equipped than expected. It also turned out to be larger than expected, certainly way larger than the broom closets (read: «Rooms») of the other London hotels we stayed in so far. The room comes with a wardrobe, there is a section which holds the coffeemaker and fridge and there is even a small balcony. A word of caution before your mind goes all whoolgathering, though, as the balcony faces the backyard, which kind of nippes all romantic thoughs in the proverbial bud. Not facing the street also means a quieter room, however, and quiet it was. We asked for a quiet room when we made our reservation and a quiet room is what we got. There was no breakfast included in our rate, but this being the Strand and Covent-Garden there are numerous restaurants in the neighborhood. To be honest, if you threw a stone it would be difficult not to hit one, if not even two. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and are always on hand whenever you need them. To be honest, it was quite nice to be perceived as a person rather than just a room-number for once. This is not a very large hotel, which also means there are no lines in front of the elevators, nor are they filled to capacity, which is something we also appreciated. If you are heading for breakfast the smell of undigested Doner-Kebap is not always conductive to a healthy appetite. At this point I would like to thank the staff for making our stay the success it was and special thanks to Mandeep and Tommy for their valuable tips, which were not only helpful but also saved us money in the end. Are there better hotels in London? Certainly, but for this price and location what «The Resident» has to offer is hard to beat. We will definitely be back.

This is an excellent hotel. We have stayed with them 3 times and expect to stay with them many more. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. And while the bathrooms range in sizes they have all been excellent. It is walking distance from Waterloo Station as well as Leicester Square, Chinatown, Soho, and Covent Garden to name just a few.

I loved the location. It is centrally located and the neighbourhood has a great and safe vibe! There are many restaurants, pubs and shops close by. I also loved how it is close to Southwark and Waterloo station as well as the bus stops making navigating London so much easier and convenient. I was there for nine days and within that short timeframe there were more than five to six women who stayed in the other room making me, a woman, feel secure and glad to be living here. I also have to say that the cleanliness is top-notch.

Our family of 4 had a very good experience staying in this hotel. The location is great. Walking distance to London Eye, Big Ben and Great Waterloo station. The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly and attentive. There are open 24/7 markets, souvenir vendors and food and beverage places around the hotel. We did not eat and drink at the hotel, we have no idea about this. We definitely recommend this hotel for your trip to London.

Brilliant location on the South Bank - opposite County Hall so great for events there. I was upgraded to a room with an incredible view over Waterloo Station and to the Shard beyond. Rooms are soundproof so no sound from the trains. The staff I encountered were all very friendly - from my welcome at check in to smiles from any other staff member I saw.

Room was a very good size, double bed, sofa, desk, tv unit ans still so much space in there. Jacob on reception was very kind and welcoming, even printed us a map of what public transport to take as unfamiliar with the area. Only a 20 min train to London Waterloo, location was perfect too. Will be staying here again on next trip

You must remember that since the Norman invasion of 1066, this has been the seat of common law for any country that broke away from England. And the architecture takes you back to another time. We also had the pleasure of being there within a very celebratory week--both the 200 year anniversary of Waterloo and the 800th anniversary of the sealing of Magna Carta.
