We loved our stay and will definitely be back! We stayed in a room with a beautiful four-poster bed with a red canopy. The room was spacious and airy, with a nice bathroom featuring a bathtub and a stained glass window. Breakfast was wonderful. The location is great, very peaceful and just about a 15-minute walk from the historical centre and all the cafes and pubs.

The location inside the cathedral grounds is wonderful; among other things it entitles you to free reign to visit the cathedral during all opening hours, as often as you like. It is also quiet, away from the crowds in town

If you were going to stay at Cathedral Gate, make sure you stay in the room labelled “Joy“ because of the view of the cathedral! It also has a private bathroom with a nice tub to soak in at the end of a long busy day! Make sure you read the fine print because some bathrooms are shared. The property is centrally located and extremely convenient to everything!
