Lovely, friendly staff. Not far off the motorway. Absolutely perfect stop off on our London to Scotland road trip. The room was clean, comfortable and just what we needed. The restaurant was busy but the staff made sure to find a table for us. The food was excellent, I highly recommend the fish and chips.

Room was an excellent size and very comfortable. Staff were excellent, extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were the best ever and our one evening meal was very tasty. Room was spotlessly clean. Would we stay again-certainly would. Would we recommend to friends-without a shadow of doubt.

Shibden Mill Inn, hotel in Haworth

Just 3 miles from Halifax, this family-run 17th-century inn has an award-winning restaurant offering excellent locally sourced food and a cosy bar. There is free Wi-Fi and traditional log fires.

The staff were all lovely. The meals (we had three breakfasts and three dinners) were all beautifully prepared, tasty and enjoyable - and excellent value for money. The rooms were comfortable and we liked the nice touches - fresh baked biscuits for example. The location is delightful, and from there its is easy to reach a wide range of local activities, attractions and cities/towns.

It has been my lifelong dream to visit the Bronte Parsonage...

It has been my lifelong dream to visit the Bronte Parsonage ever since I first read Jane Eyre decades ago. The parsonage is beautifully preserved. You can just imagine Charlotte, Emily and Anne sitting at the very table where they wrote their masterpieces. (The table is still there). The setting is gorgeous in the Yorkshire hills. Can't praise this place enough!

    Lovely well kept museum.

Lovely well kept museum. Thought it was rather expensive at £11 for an adult, but you can revisit as many times as you wish for a year without paying again! Well worth a visit, and you can’t really go to Haworth without visiting there!

    Recommended.

Recommended. Gift shop and well-presented period house, with good furniture and signage. Does a great job of summarising the Brontes. No toilet, but there are lots of pubs and restaurants nearby. Only real negative - it was too well heated and comfortable. I remember a visit from 40 years ago when it was cold and damp and I could picture how the family died.
