Everything was excellent. Delicious food, especially the pork croquette starter! The staff were really welcoming and helpful, and we had a beautiful, clean room, with a lovely view across the mill pond.

We chose the hotel mainly for it's location to the Theatre Royal. It was perfect.

Lovely hotel with nice views of the golf course from the restaurant and lounge bar. We enjoyed using the spa facilities in the afternoon and again for a morning swim before breakfast.
We opted for the cooked breakfast and continental, which was very tasty.

Excellent location for town centre, and particularly the Apex Theatre, where we were going to for a concert. The artists used the same inn. Good place for a drink, as it is also a Greene King pub. Good choice and quality of breakfast.
Always great friendly service at the Bushell. My mum and i always feel well looked after. The pub is cozy and menu and drinks selection good. We even did the pub quiz this time!!It’s a short walk to Bury Centre. We attended the Apex so excellent location. We look forward to our next visit.
The very friendly welcome we received. We arrived very early, but despite that we were given a room by the cheerful and friendly owner. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. This is a very pleasant and quirky old hotel dating back to the Tudor period. It is in an excellent quiet situation in easy walking distance of the Abbey Gardens, Cathedral and town centre. We were in Bury St Edmunds for a concert at The Apex and the hotelier kindly gave us a map and marked out the position of the concert hall.
Location great for attending a gig at The Apex. Room good, despite top floor. Other than expressed below, this was a great stay in the centre of Bury St. Edmunds. Generally, all a good experience. On a Friday night, this flagship pub/hotel is rocking. We decided that we would stay there again.
