The staff were pleasant and helpful.
The location was right on the harbour so there wasn't any convenient parking nearby, be prepared to carry your cases some distance.

Lovely room complete with the only requirement we had to have for a trip away - a bath! The location is always ideal for getting to everything you need. Tesco a short walk away, and most other things closer even than that!

Make sure you both book ahead and download the guide before going. Orkney is far less accessible than it used to be. Now wverything has to be booked ahead so the freedom of travel holiday I had a few years ago - seeing things on a whim is no longer available.. The Tomb of the Eagles has closed - rediculous.

Fabulous holiday home, we loved our time at Aurora. The owners have thought of everything! The kitchen has everything you could possibly need, and the house is comfortable and beautifully done out. Fab location, quiet but close to town.
Our top tourist tip is to book online for the main historical sites like skara brae before you get here.
Everything we needed for our trip to Orkney. A good-sized room with a private bathroom, ample off-stteet parking and a shared kitchen in case you want to cook yourself.
A ten minute walk to Kirkwall and the ferry pier across a nice park and just around the corner from the major supermarkets.
John was a great host and gave us some very helpful tips before our trip including pre-booking restaurant weeks before you arrive and tickets to Skara Brae and other historical sites.
The location is superb and the silence absolute.
Sunrise over the Loch was worth getting up for and, better than that, we got an auroral display that lasted 6 hours.
Hugely memorable, and with Stenness, Skara Brae, Birsay and Brodgar are just down the road.
