The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms are really well equipped, clean and comfortable with lovely decor. It was our anniversary and they had left us a card and gift voucher for drinks in the room.
The bar on 7th floor (also where the reception is) has lovely views of the city.
The location is ideal for exploring.
Located on Princes Street, The Balmoral has a 4 AA Rosette restaurant, a pool and a gym. Waverley Station and Edinburgh's main shopping area are within 5 minutes' walk.

A great trip even if you are not a rugby fan, our host was full of knowledge and stories and very glad we went - worth the visit. oh and check which bus stop is the closest to the entrance as it is on the South side and it is a long walk around the grounds!

The property was easy to get to. The bus stop was directly outside, and with regular buses we were able to get to Murrayfield stadium very easily. The staff were lovely, even going out their way to run after us to give me my hat back (a rugby one) after I left it at the restaurant. It was a comfortable stay for the one night, and a place I’d come back to again.
