A small venue, but nicely done.
A small venue, but nicely done. A lot of Viking history here. Very good displays and a lot of thought and effort has gone into these. A short trip in a mobile car system, is also part of the experience. Some hands on exhibits to use. Staff were in Viking dress and were very knowledgeable. This place is very popular with school trips.
There is a gift shop at the end, which I found was VERY expensive. So only bought some fridge magnets and coasters. There was some nice stuff to buy, but I found them far too expensive for me.

Outstanding.
Outstanding. Excellent narrative provided by knowledgeable staff with a clear and genuine interest. A supported visitor (blind) we witnessed, was not only treated with respect and dignity but spoken to directly not via his carers. He was offered courtesy and clear explanations of what would happen, what he would feel underfoot and things to be aware of. Fantastic customer service at its absolute best.

Best museum I've been to.
Best museum I've been to. I would have liked the interactive experience to go on even longer, that's how much I enjoyed it. Some museums you go to, you don't really come away feeling you've learnt anything or had a feel for what it was like, but this was different and the staff really knew what they were talking to, as well as being enthusiastic.

What a waste of time. Booked tickets through booking. come.
What a waste of time. Booked tickets through booking. come. I was told that I could turn up on the dat between 10am to 4pm on e mail. Got there and had to queue for over an hour to get in. I asked why on the e mail it said just turn up between them times, and was told that it was not a booking with them and it was booking.com fault for putting it on the e mail. I found most of the staff unhelpful. There was a lot of queue jumping as well. When we finally got in, I was not impress. The 16 min ride around Viking Coppergate was ok, but rest off the display was lacking. Definitely not worth the time or money
