Mermaid Inn, hotel in Robertsbridge

With Norman cellars dating back to the 12th century and secret passageways in some of its rooms, this inn offers historic accommodation in Rye.

Great location. Stayed in the Fleur de Lys room and it was full of charm and a four poster bed. The lounges were comfortably quirky and with fires blazing on a cold Jan night. The breakfast was good too. Parking was on site, easy to find and in the centre of town.

The breakfast was exceptional. The home made muesli was delicious with the fabulous fresh fruit salad and yogurt. Eggs and avocado excellent too. Dinner last night was incredible. Great ambience and we were treated so well by the staff. What a team. Brilliant

The Hope Anchor, hotel in Robertsbridge

This mid-18th century former inn offers unique rooms, free Wi-Fi, and excellent views of Rye.

This charming hotel is in a fabulous location with lovely views and it has a sense of history as soon as you step inside. Very quick check in by friendly staff and we liked the fact that we were asked to choose our cooked breakfast items and time in advance so that it meant breakfast service was efficient and no waiting around. The quality of ingredients was excellent and the staff at breakfast were also great. There are some cosy areas to sit and chat and a nice bar to relax with a beer. We were also given happy hour ticket which was a nice touch. Lovely room with great views, nice bed linen and very comfortable bed.
