Amazing stay. A 4-star hotel which had exceptionally good value for money; not far away from being a 5-star location. We didn’t get the castle view we wanted but the city view was still very nice. Rooms were well equipped with all necessities and design was very unique. Location was ideal within the city centre and only a 15 minute walk from the main train station.

There was a market there the day we were there - lots of very different vendors - food, ceramics, wood carvings. We bought several items and had lunch at a restaurant nearby. Also went to Grayfriars churchyard, where Greayfrairs Bobby is buried.
The cottage is spacious and comfortable for 4 people. The appliances and facilities are complete. It help us when we have to stay at the cottage because there is red warning of storm eowyn on Friday, January 24.
The location is also good. Near to grassmarket square, stores and restaurants. Not to mention that we could see Edinburgh Castle from our front yard. Awesome!
We definitely have a great day when we are in Edinburgh. Thank you.
Room was very clean and looked like in the picture. The location was really good, with Grassmarket just 10 min walk away. Hotel seem very dog friendly, which is nice.
The Grassmarket Hotel is in a great location- easily walkable to The Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle. There are also some tasty restaurants right on the same street. My room was small but comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. A bunch of steps to my room though so not accessible. There was also a great breakfast available for a modest extra charge.
The location in the Grassmarket area was perfect. So easy to walk to every area of Edinburgh from here.
The staff was exceptional upon check in as well as check out. Even though I had the Do Not Disturb sign on the door, which I always do when traveling, the housekeeping staff asked if I was out of anything and made sure I didn’t need anything. Very professional and accommodating staff!
Absolutely love this hotel! Staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. Centrally located near the top tourist attractions. A short, leisurely walking distance from Haymarket Train Station and about 14 by foot to Grassmarket.
The location was central to the castle, the Royal Mile, Victoria Street and Grassmarket. The apartment had a washer/dryer combo. The bed was comfortable (even though one of the mattress supports was broken).
This hostel was amazing. It had welcoming vibes, everyone was chill and the staff was super helpful. I stayed in a mixed bed room of 10 as a first time solo traveler and felt very comfortable with the space I had. It’s right next to victoria street and grassmarket which was super awesome. Everything about this hostel was great! I’d recommend
Excellent location, within walking distance to restaurants, markets and a bit more walking or short Uber ride to Grassmarket shops and restaurants. Short Uber ride to Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle and Princess Street. Charming view of small park across street, minimal foot traffic and road noise.
The location was the absolute best about 2 blocks from the Grassmarket area. Very easy to get to everything from the hotel, close to the castle, Royal Mile, tour buses, restaurants, pubs, Victoria Street and other locations. All of the front desk staff at the hotel were great, friendly and helpful. Charlotte at the front dest was so helpful and friendly - the absolute best. The coffee was delicious.
