The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms are really well equipped, clean and comfortable with lovely decor. It was our anniversary and they had left us a card and gift voucher for drinks in the room.
The bar on 7th floor (also where the reception is) has lovely views of the city.
The location is ideal for exploring.

There was a market there the day we were there - lots of very different vendors - food, ceramics, wood carvings. We bought several items and had lunch at a restaurant nearby. Also went to Grayfriars churchyard, where Greayfrairs Bobby is buried.

Location, breakfast & hospitality service was 10/10. Was able to order takeout to the hotel which saved going out late at night. Safe area but would be cautious as you are still in a city.
Overall a great place to stay, very relaxing lounge area and nice staff! Walk to ‘grassmarket’ is less than 10 minutes and from there everything is very close to each other!

Nice and pleasant stay. Clean and comfortable rooms. Very well equipped kitchen. Ideal central location in the Grassmarket area with walking distance to Edinburgh Castle, Royal Mile, Princes Street, Waverley train station.
Modern clean bathroom, comfortable bed, friendly and helpful staff, and a mini fridge is a nice touch that I like to see. The location is right on the entrance to Grassmarket approaching from the Royal Mile via West Bow, so absolutely perfect if you're spending time in the old town.
Location is great; 15 minutes to 20 minutes to Grassmarket where you can find good restaurants. We were upgraded to a bigger room. It was warm and the facilities were complete.
Great location and comfortable hotel. I had the best night’s sleep for ages on my stay. Have recommended Apex Grassmarket to my family. Particularly impressed with the eco version of a flask and water cooler instead of plastic bottles. I also loved the duck.
