The breakfast was excellent...tastey, local ingredients and with prompt service. We were asked to book the time in advance the night but that was O.K, it enabled us to plan our morning and didn't have to wait to be seated. We were able to have our meals with the dog as we ate in the bar. We had a lovely evening meal from the extensive Thai menu and they were very accomodating. Nice to see the hotel is used by locals and travellers alike and it was a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. The hotel is only 550 yards from the Showground (we were attending an event there and the reason for our stay), so couldn't be more convenient. It is a beautiful part of the country.

The location and parking perfect. The room quite amazing very large very comfy double bed, this room extended out through a hallway to a living room and couch with bathroom shower and 2 single beds, faboulous. The cooked breakfast was fantastic which set you up for the day to go and explore the elan valley. A+++
Very comfortable with everything you need. Such a handy location for exploring the Elan Valley. Also great places to eat within walking distance. Really enjoyed our stay in the Bear Den and couldn't fault anything.
Excellent location for places of interest; Elan Valley dams, Aberystwyth, Builth Wells are easy to travel from the hotel. The staff were fab, the food was lovely. Can't fault anything
The lodge was an excellent getaway for myself and partner plus our two pups. It was like home from home. We went exploring down by the river and made visits to Elan Valley. Highly recommend Evans Plaice if your after fish n chips. About a five min drive from the cottage. Will definitely be returning.
Fully equipped and cozy apartment- great base for attending a local wedding and exploring Elan Valley. Minutes away from riverside walk and unrestricted parking. Would recommend!

Steve was a wonderful host. We so enjoyed talking with him. He obviously works hard to maintain the high quality of every aspect of this lovely B&B. The room was lovely and comfortable, especially the modern bathroom and its great shower. There’s a lovely lawn and gardens in back of this beautiful old house that guests can enjoy. The walk to town and restaurants and cafes was easy. We did the Elan Valley driving tour and discovered and new, to us, stunning area of Wales. We hope to come back some day.
