Arrived later at night- self check was quick and efficient.
Well priced- we had 2x rooms.

We had a fantastic room which overlooked the Golf Course.
Very large bed.
The bathroom was amazing 👏
Large area with a separate hip bath, lovely shower and loo separate.
Food in the hotel was very good too- had a lovely meal in the Charcoa restaurant in the evening.
Would definitely stay again.

You can only gain admission by way of paying to join a guided tour as.It is used as a student hall's of residence so for security reasons you cannot visit there on your own. The tour is well worth it as it is very informative.

I have visited Durham so many times over the years and this is my all time favourite place. Anna and the team are so welcoming and care about everyone’s visit! The rooms I’ve stayed in have been great, the beds are comfortable and there is a glorious view of Durham Castle and Cathedral from many of the rooms.
Location is good at the foot of the Elvet Bridge. Easy access out of hours. Room was clean and tidy, albeit rather small. Staff member took me up to the room, which initially appeared to be a rabbit warren, but actually was easy to find once you know the way. The pub itself is very popular although I was fed and watered at Durham Castle during my stay.
