Located in the heart of Ticknall, The Staff of Life is a welcoming 4-star country inn, housed in a Grade II Listed building, south of Derby.

Food was very good pub food, especially the steak pie

No thrills accommodation perfectly priced for a short stay.

The hotel is situated 23 miles away from Alton Towers Resort ( one of the most popular theme park), 16 miles away from East Midlands Airport ( EMA), Burton Albion Football Club is 5 miles away.

Very close to Mercia Marina which was why we booked it.

Expected basic but got a lot more for the price paid

The hotel is accessible distance from Nottingham city centre, Sherwood Forest and Donnington Race Park. Trent Bridge Cricket Ground and the Motorpoint Arena are just over 5 miles away.

Just 9 minutes’ drive from East Midlands International Airport, Melbourne View Hotel provides accommodation and bar.

It was close to Donnington Park. The beds were comfy.
