Rafters at Riverside House Hotel, hotel in Baslow

Located in Bakewell, 5.6 miles from Chatsworth House, Rafters at Riverside House Hotel provides accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar.

Outstanding restaurant with terrific dinner food and service and cozy ambience. The ground floor garden room, though small, was efficiently laid out, and had a nice bathtub/shower combination. The dining and seating areas were very comfortable, as was the bed. I also liked that the nighstands had drawers, there was a normal closet with hangers and enough drawer space to put short stay items, and an in-room coffee/tea kettle. Sweet treats welcomed us on arrival in our room.

House is top heavy with stuff but the gardens are nice and even better the rolling acres around which are free to walk more or less and don't cost anything Have just remembered the children's adventure playground which is really fabulous, worth the entry fee and very adventurous indeed so not for the faint hearted but for older children who want a challenge. Well done Chatsworth

    DO NOT just turn up.

DO NOT just turn up. The car park is £7.50 and the attendants will NOT tell you that it is free if you pre book. They will simply take your money and only afterwards will you find out that it would have been free if you'd parked up before the gate and pre booked.

Staff were exceptional: especially Steve as well as Matthew Julia/Juliette, Bethany and Charlotte. Well informed, passionate and sharing. I have never understood why the House, its collection and gardens are always rated as Britain's best. I have been often and too many others in the British Isles But the Chatsworth staff: absolutely. Thank you all.

Lovely room with a comfy bed, modern updated bathroom with one of the best hotel showers I have ever had. The room was spacious and decorated so nice! It felt cozy and luxurious. We loved the breakfast. You could tell it was made with love. Bonus that the food was all sourced from local farms in the area. Such an amazing value for a really unique experience. The property manager was kind, helpful, and check-in/ out was so easy! The property was in close proximity to Chatsworth house. Must stay location in the Peak District.
