Cardiff Castle is an interesting place to visit as it has a small museum full of information about events relating to the castle & its history. I have also been there for music/food festival events too & both were really good. Is located within a fairly easy walk from town centre & defiantly worth a visit if you like history.

The staff was very nice and friendly, especially Matilda, who helped us and took some group photos, the rooms were clean, and it was really quiet, plus the location was exactly in the city centre close to the shops the Cardiff Castle and the shopping centre.
it was very open planned spacious and suited are needs really well. we only stayed one night but for the money and location it was perfect for us going into the cardiff castle winter wonderland and the fair rides being rather close only around a 15 min walk from the attraction..
The hotel was beautiful. Bit tired Very grand entrance.1 minute from Cardiff castle. Nice size room.clean and comfy beds.The breakfast was absolutely out of this world.
Great location & it felt safe, comfortable, cosy. Tea & coffee facilities were provided in the room, Marks & Spencer & great, affordable shopping options were close as well as Cardiff Central Train & Bus Transport. A microwave was available in the communal area. The TV in the room had a very good music channel also called Smooth - nice for a party atmosphere. The Christmas markets were lovely & I really enjoyed the one at Cardiff Castle. WiseStay was very good value & indeed a Wise Stay 🙂

Cardiff Castle is a conglomerate of several monuments - the roman portion is under excavation. the castle itself on the motte (hill) was nicely restored, the House, done in gothic fantasy was well restored and over the top with gaudy detail. Didn't go into the clock tower, that too was gaudy. Glad I went, it is a landmark.
