Kaj se skriva v imenu? Katedrala imena ni dobila po Sv. Jakobu, temveč po Sv. Janezu Velikem - ki je povezan s krajem Santiago de Compostela. V latvijskem jeziku je ime Janez in Jakob enako - od tod izvira nesporazum. Sedaj ko smo to razčistili, se posvetimo zgradbi: lepotica iz rdeče opeke, polna sakralne umetnosti s čudovitim zvonikom, oblečenim v baker, ki se vzpenja proti nebu. Čudovito!
