You must trek up the highest mountain in the uk.
You must trek up the highest mountain in the uk. If you’re lucky enough to get a good day then the views are to die for. Even the achievement in its self is worth the effort. Stay at the Ben Nevis inn at the foot of the mountain. Brilliant food in the restaurant. Nicely washed down with a few drinks.

Claimed Ben Nevis with my daughter.
Claimed Ben Nevis with my daughter. Fantastic views and weather though a bit icy and snowy at the top. I wish they would keep dogs off the mountain as some very irresponsible owners made it unsafe for others.

pricey to get the cart up and really disappointing to see how aged the carts are and dirty. Lack of information for visitors and staff just stand around chatting - whoever runs it needs to be replaced tomorrow!

You can view and photograph Ben Nevis from Corpach, which is a train-stop away, or 3 miles by road. You may have to return a day or two later, because the peak is often covered in low-cloud and mist. After 12 noon is the best time, because of the position of the sun. You can also see the Jacobite Steam Train at Corpach & Fort William. To ride on it you need to book up the previous October. I didn’t climb Ben Nevis because the view is only clear 1 day in 12, but good luck if you go for it!!

Stunning to look at.
Stunning to look at. The start of climbing it is 2 miles from the centre. Take good walking gear for sun rain and snow. The cloud comes down fast with rain then leaves and it’s sunny. Good walking boots.

Beatiful views of the mountain from Fort William and...
Beatiful views of the mountain from Fort William and climbing possible most of the year. There is a Ski Lift which operates in good weather and gives access to get nearer to the top of the mountain without climbing. This was not possible when we stayed in April as the weather, although not that cold was damp and very misty. There are lots of local distilleries to visit if you enjoy whisky. The city is small and has nice restuarants. Loval hotels get booked up very quickly so book early in the year to avoid disappointment.
The staff are young, energetic, pleasant and very helpful.
Location is good for Ben Nevis hike , the 45min walk to starting point serves as a good warm up and cool down. (This may be too much for some)5 mins gets you back into town /train station.
It was also great to be able to drop off bags and have a cup of tea prior to check in. Check in is from 5pm onwards. The hostel has a great vibe and great value for money. Serves its purpose
We loved some milk in the fridge for a cuppa on arrival! We didn't see, nor did we need any actual human help whilst there. All communication happened via email and that was perfect. The apartment was comfortable, cosy and in great condition. All mod cons available. Everything we (4 adults) needed was provided for when we arrived. We climbed Ben Nevis and the location and quality of the apartment matched our needs.
It is situated at the central place, close to Ben Nevis. The apartment was clean and comfortable for family of 04. We stayed for 02 nights and enjoyed our stay.
The room was a really nice size, felt new or updated, was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also large with a nice shower that was contained and didn't get water all over the floor! The area around the hotel with the views of Ben Nevis was beautiful!
Great place with spectacular views of Ben Nevis. Highly recommend. It is a large 2 bed/2 bath apartment at the ground floor (1st floor for Americans), very comfortable, excellently equipped, perfectly located. Couldnt have asked for more.
We stayed at Farrow apartments when we climbed Ben Nevis. For this purpose, the property was perfectly located. Our hosts were just lovely, met us and gave good recommendations for food and things to see. The place was beautifully appointed and had everything we needed. We even did a load of laundry while we were here, it felt like home away from home. Best place we've stayed in Scotland.
Lovely view of the harbor in Fort William - great balcony for morning coffee or evening cocktails. The apartment had all the amenities needed for a large family group - loads of sleeping space, towels and a large pleasant kitchen fully equipped. We used this apartment as a central hub for outings to Ben Nevis, the Jacobite train and golfing at Glencoe. Easy walk to downtown which was full of great shops and plenty of bars and restaurants.
The location of the hotel is very central from the town of Fort William and various hiking experiences / trails like Ben Nevis and the Steall Waterfall. The rooms are spacious with enough storage space and are comfortable. We loved that we standardly got two pillows and two seperate bed sheets. The linen were very soft and we enjoyed our rest here.
We had two rooms, 021 and 016.
Bed sheets were clean.
Bed pillows were fluffy.
Bathroom towels were big.
Hotel is close to the trail head for Ben Nevis.
