We loved Battle Abbey. We did the free tour with Robert.
We loved Battle Abbey. We did the free tour with Robert. He was the best tour guide ever. It was a masterclass in keeping everyone's attention. His knowledge was amazing. His enthusiasm was infectious as well as the humour he adds to the tour. Cannot praise him enough.

The location was so central - directly opposite Battle Abbey, with an amazing view from the picture window, and right in the heart of the town, so it was ideal. It was a perfect, cosy little apartment for a festive trip to Battle for the Christmas late night shopping and the Abbey illuminations. The whole apartment is beautifully appointed, and we would definitely stay here if we visited again. The Christmas tree and chocolate yule log in the apartment were extra little festive touches which we appreciated.
Lovely extended cottage, a perfect setting for staying near Battle Abbey
Hospitality was great, Mark went out of his way to accommodate us, making us all feel comfortable.
The hotel is located in a main high street so convenient for pubs, shops etc but obviously you do get a bit of road noise. The car park was free and there were 2 bottles of free water which was nice.
Check in and check out were straightforward. We found a nice place called Bonnys on the other side of the road for breakfast. If you want to visit Battle Abbey it is literally a five minute walk. For what we paid for a superior room with 4 poster bed it was quite adequate for a one night stay.
Very comfortable traditional country house hotel steeped in history, set in lovely grounds. Close to Battle Abbey, 1066 and all that! Lots of original features. Food fell into the 'fine dining' category and was expensive but not unexpected. It lived up to it's name though. Car park was supervised by 2 beautiful Peacocks.
Lovely cosy apartment, especially when the weather was so stormy. Ideal location for the shops and Battle Abbey which is well worth a visit. Great for us visiting family nearby. Loved the croissants and jam. Friendly welcoming hosts.
We liked everything. A very well appointed, comfortable and stylish property with lots of space and plenty to occupy all generations. The views from the garden are uplifting and you can see the towers of Battle Abbey in the distance. Our host James was both helpful and fun.
Stayed at the family room. Everything clean and very comfortable beds. Separate bedrooms, a nice lounge area, private garden area. An extraordinary amount of space. We only stayed one night but wish we'd had more! Perfect for a stopover after a long day in Hastings and trip to Battle Abbey.
I came cycling from London, I needed a good meal and a nice place to stay after a long day and I wasn't disappointed, it was perfect after cycling more than 100km. Nicely decorated room. Very good food in the pub. Old historic house. Nice staff, helpful people. Walking distance from the Battle Abbey, good location.
