Powdermills Country House Hotel, hotel in Battle

In 150 acres of gardens, park and woodland, PowderMills is a Grade II listed 18th-century country house hotel with an outdoor swimming pool and free Wi-Fi, near the historical town of Battle.

Absolutely disgusted with the accommodation. I had stayed here 2 months ago and had an an absolutely brilliant stay. I had booked it for my husbands birthday, where I had enjoyed it so much. I had ordered chocolates and and Prosecco for our room as a special surprise and was a shocked when I opened the door to see that our view was a brick wall and conifers, devastated is an understatement. Also i do not expect to pay £180 for one nights stay to have an iron mark on the carpet, in the middle of the room. I am shocked by the standards of the Powder Mills

Lovely location. Away from the busy road and hustle and bustle. A short walk to battle high street. Pod was cozy and quirky. Fire pit was warming and fun. Lovely property owners. Highly recommend for a quiet relaxing night away. We enjoyed our night so much. We’ve just booked again for two nights in August.

Visiting the abbey and the guide was both informative and amusing. Good town with parking and shops and eateries. Easy to get to the coastal areas. We liked Bexhill on sea. We would highly recommend The Black Horse for lunches and dinner with excellent service. About a five minute drive from the town

Historic and interesting town of Battle, 1066 - 1115!

Historic and interesting town of Battle, 1066 - 1115! Don’t miss St Mary’s Church close to the Abbey on the main High Street, worth an visit! Abundance of tourist, okay that’s expected in mid August. Great for walkers and dogs, most places very welcoming with dogs including bowls of water and sometimes dig biscuits! Interesting High Street with a variety of shops and restaurants. Parking at the Abbey was £4.00 for the day which is a plus.

Absolutely beautiful surroundings , swimming pool, it is not heated . Not a problem I really enjoyed swimming in it. You would not be able to walk into the town of Battle , it would be too far. We found the dinner menu far to expensive for us. So we drove to Battle and had fish and chips. The following evening we went into Bexhill. Battle is beautiful but there is not a lot to do there.

    Everyone was so friendly.

Everyone was so friendly. Good choice I’d restaurants would recommend The Sweet Olive and Trinity. Both in the high street, excellent food and service. Even the staff in Battle Abbey went out of their way to chat and give us information.

Myself and my partner absolutely loved Battle Pods and Bells. The space was absolutely incredible, directly leading you into the woods. The amenities perfectly fine as far as portable toilets and showers. Pippa was very welcoming and provided an amazing service! We will definitely be going back.
