The location is stunning. The staff are very friendly and helpful - special thanks to Richards. I open the window in the morning to hear the peaceful sounds of Swiss cowbells and a running stream.
Refuge Le Marcheuson has a shared lounge, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Les Crosets.

This hotel is up ON the mountain. You reach it by taking a Tram or Chairlift up, and skiing down a few hundred meters in a small bowl that has 2 short, groomed runs. You ski down to a lift that takes you up to the main ski resort each morning and everything is right there; it's easy to get first tracks in Porte du Soleil from here. It's a great location - but you have to be OK with being isolated there each evening because the lift only runs 0900-1700.
The breakfast is simple - croissants, bread, jam, cheese, corn flakes and apples are available. And the barista will make you a nice coffee if you like. The dinners are simple, but quite nice and filling; mostly salad and (good) fries with a protien (sausage, roast beef, chicken, ribs) or local mountain fare, like tartiflette. We were served a nice dessert every night, too. All service is provided by friendly, helpful staff who also live there.
This is a mountain hut, so some people get dorm rooms with shared bathrooms, We chose a 2 person room with dedicated bathroom. Our rooms was clean and the bathroom was surprisingly attractive, if small. Everything looks better than you might expect from a mountain hut. The shared space downstairs has couches to lounge in, plenty of games (including table football and ping pong). There's always music and bar service, plus a very sweet house dog. There's also a sauna and jacuzzi in a back room -- we just asked and they made it available for us (it's already warm (hot, actually) when you get there).
When we left, they took us and our (too large) backpacks and ski gear up to the tram by snowmobile and arranged for us to go back down to Champery. Everything is looked after so you can have a beautiful, skiing-focused holiday, and not have to think too much.
Chilly Powder’s Au Coin du Feu chalet offers comfortable accommodations in Morzine, at the foot of ski slopes in the Portes du Soleil area. It has an outdoor hot tub and free Wi-Fi.
