This is sacred ground and deserves to be treated with the utmost respect. Our visit coincided with a coachload of teenage school pupils some of whom seemed oblivious to this - but for them this is understanable as the Great War must seem as remote as the Napoleonic Wars.

We had two separate reservations; one for Superior Twin Room, which was absolutely fine; the other for Junior Suite, which was superb, spacious and with an impressive modern bathroom.
