25hours Hotel Paper Island, hotel in Copenhagen

Boasting a bar, 25hours Hotel Paper Island is set in Copenhagen in the Zealand region, less than 1 km from Church of Our Saviour and a 19-minute walk from Christiansborg Palace.

This hotel offers a fantastic location and excellent facilities without the usual formality of a traditional hotel. The 8th-floor bar was a standout, with exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable staff. Our room overlooked the river, providing stunning views of the city. I highly recommend this hotel.

Ok. You have to see her. But prepare to be underwhelmed.

Ok. You have to see her. But prepare to be underwhelmed. She’s little. From land there will be so many tourists it will be hard to get a good view. People say go see her from one of the canal boat tours but then you don’t get to see her face as she looks to the land not out to sea. Either go super early or try in the evening.

We saw it the back of it first on the Netto harbor cruise, which was enough. It's small and we had no reason to see more. However, on a bike trip we did. Again - I guess you have to see it, but I wouldn't make a special trip to get there.

For those visiting Copenhagen there seems to be a great desire to visit the statue, located on the river and easily accessible for pictures, which must be placed in your visit to the city album. To be honest what other places have you heard of in Copenhagen before you arrived, locally the guides don’t speak highly of it, but I for one have the pictures and the keyring, a visit to Copenhagen without the Little Mermaid would be a miss whatever the locals think.

Everybody has heard about this sculpture, actually it does represent Copenhagen. Personally I saw it from the sightseeing boat and was surprised at how small it actually is. I didnt go nearer as the crowd of tourists taking pictures next to it was not a welcome sight. I found Copenhagen is thankfully, much more than the Little Mermaid, so if it is crowded....skip and go explore the city instead!

Based on booking comments, we had an idea of the pros and cons for this hotel, prior of our arrival. - Location: ideal for someone travelling for vacation. a) Metro station exactly outside the hotel (literally 1-2min walk), with direct line from/to the airport. b) You could go to 95% of the sightseeing on foot (we only used train when coming back from the little mermaid, and the day we visited kronborg castle). - Rooms: clean, with very good soundproofing. - Breakfast: big buffet with quite several options

Such a good location - over the road from a train which takes you to Copenhagen central in about 7 minutes, the airport and even Sweden if you fancy a day trip. Walking distance to the Little Mermaid statue. Supermarket across the road also. Friendly staff, gym on site. Nice quiet lounge areas between some of the rooms. We stayed in a 90/90 sleeper, right by the tracks - trains didnt disturb us at all - was expecting them to be louder. They also provide earplugs in the room. Nice to have a kettle in the room!
