We chose this hotel based on a review I saw on YouTube about the sauna, which is conveniently located downstairs from the hotel.
The room size was ok. We were in Room 11 on the first floor. We had a balcony with a table and chairs which was nice as we were able to leave the door ajar to allow in some fresh air. Easy access via a lift but quicker using the adjacent stairs. The bed was hard but this appears to be quite common among hotels I've stayed at. The fitted bed sheet was combed cotton so had a lovely feel. The duvets provided were soft and warm and the pillows were a bit firm but I slept well.
The location to the sauna below couldn't have been any more convenient. Despite the freezing cold outside, I was able to leave all my valuables in the room and walk down wearing light clothing. They can charge the entry fee to your room which is very convenient.
The rooftop terrace is lovely during the day when it's not busy, a nice place to enjoy a drink with views overlooking the city.
The room is made up daily including making the beds, fresh towels and restocking the complimentary mini bar, with several different types of beer, bottled water and coke.
The hotel is directly opposite a bakery selling a variety of continental style sandwiches, sweets and coffee. 2 sandwiches with 2 large coffees from there came to just 15€.
Well set in Munich, Design- und Kunsthotel München provides a buffet breakfast and free WiFi throughout the property.

Very friendly staff, helpful and guiding for everything we needed. Located next to downtown sightseeings was very easy to walk wherever we wanted. Helpful with the baggage storage. Nespresso coffee machine in the room with 6 shots. The room had enough space for 2 and was very cosy. I liked the paintings in the stairs, it was the reason why I didn’t use the elevator!

We wanted to go to the beer hall on the third floor where we’ve been before- fun singing and dancing, but it was closed. We did eat on the second floor since downstairs was full. The food was good and our waiter was lovely. There was a violinist and piano player that entertained. You felt rushed because there was a line of people waiting for tables.

just walk in and sit, the place is busy and waiter will come if you just find yourself a free bench next to any strangers. There is live music and the atmosphere is really festive. Don't expect the extremally busy waiters to take you to your seat. The food is good and beer is fresh. The hall large and fill with people. There is a sense of history just being inside this hall. Do check your bill after, because the waiter sometimes get the wrong check. Would highly recommend visiting this beer hall that has over 500 years of history.

What guests said about Hofbräuhaus:

The famous beer halls are difficult to describe - massive establishments dotted around the city. We tried the Augustiner Bräuhaus, Hofbräuhaus and Paulaner Bräuhaus. Augustiner had a massive beer garden (closed at the end of October), and a number of rooms. Great for a beer, but when we went back for food, struggled to find an unreserved table and when we did, the service was so bad we left. Hofbräuhaus was mad - huge, busy and noisy - but a great atmosphere in an interesting hall with brass band music. Found a table both times we went, and had decent food and great beer. Paulaner was, by comparison, quiet, and seemed smaller. But a lovely place to have a decent beer - and more like a British gastro-pub in its feel. If the others are too busy or noisy, I'd recommend a trip to Paulaner.
