It was a nice stroll, with views, and enjoyed watching the monkeys and seeing lakes/paths, trees, temple, plus the cable car and other views. The monkeys are used to getting fed, are aggressive, and can quickly get violent if they think you are hiding food or drink from them or are trying to take something from them. I witnessed multiple attacks during my couple hours there. Do not recommend carrying swinging/plastic bags or drinking/eating ANYTHING around them. I did not get attacked. (I also truly had no food on me, and only water hidden away in my bag). Walking around with both hands empty & visible, saying "Mei You" (没有) seemed to be successful in convincing those that started approaching me to pass me by for suckers who actually had stuff to steal.
